Spiritual Growth

Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and… try to love the questions themselves… Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them… Live the questions now.

Above all, trust in the slow work of God… Only God could say what this new spirit gradually forming within you will be.

The virtues we acquire by first having actually practiced them, just as we do the arts.

The important thing is not to think too much, and so to do whatever best awakens your love.

Only through relating with God in our lives can we reclaim our true value and allow God to dwell in our heart…

Drop by drop is the water pot filled. Likewise, the wise one, gathering it little by little, fills oneself with good.

The fruit ripens on the tree, the roots are silently at work in the darkness of the earth against a time when there shall be new leaves, fresh blossoms, green fruit. Such is the growing edge!

Carefully uphold the proper norms of conduct, and imitate them day and night… After a time, we become familiar with them, and then we no longer need to imitate them but can make our own standard.

Though your destination is not yet clear, you can trust the promise of this opening; unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning, that is at one with your life’s desire.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

There are among them some who are, by Allah’s leave, foremost in good deeds. That is the highest grace.
