If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.

You Will Know The Truth
Topic: Society & Civil Religion
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Jesus of Nazareth, often referred to as Jesus Christ, is a central figure in Christianity, the world's largest religion, and is also recognized in Islam as a prophet. Born around 4 BCE, in Bethlehem, in modern-day West Bank, he is believed by Christians to be the Son of God and the awaited Messiah (or Christ) prophesied in the Old Testament. As an adult, he was baptized by John the Baptist and embarked on a public ministry emphasizing love, compassion, forgiveness, and justice. His teachings and miracles attracted a following, leading to the formation of a community of disciples.
The "Universal Christ" is a concept that extends beyond the historical Jesus of Nazareth, often associated with mysticism and contemplative Christianity, especially within Franciscan traditions like that of Richard Rohr. The Universal Christ is understood to represent God's ongoing presence and action in the world, as well as the recognition of God in every aspect of creation. This view suggests that Christ's presence predates Jesus' earthly life and continues beyond it, permeating all time and space. As such, Jesus is seen as a special, unique manifestation of the Universal Christ - a model of the potential divine-human union and a window into the nature of God's interaction with the world.

John 8:31-32
The Bible teaches that personal change starts with truth. It is the truth that sets you free! The Apostle Paul says, “Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him . . .” (Ephesians 4:21 NLT, second edition). Who is the truth? Jesus, and because Jesus is the truth, he will always tell you the truth. His Word is the truth…
What you hear on television or read in books isn’t always going to help you, because it’s not always the truth. Have you learned that? But what God tells you is always going to be the truth. God’s Word shows you how to get back to the life you were created to live, and then it shows you how to stay on God’s path.
This is why it is so important for you to have a daily quiet time in the Word of God: Change requires learning the truth. As long as you build your life on a foundation of lies, misconceptions, deceptions, or half-truths, you will never change. But when you face the truth and respond to the truth, you will begin to see change in your life.
