Life Beyond Death

For this perishable nature must put on the imperishable, and this mortal nature must put on immortality.

It is good to have a reminder of death before us, for it helps us to understand the impermanence of life on this earth, and this understanding may aid us in preparing for our own death.

The world beyond is different from this world as this world is different from that of the child while still in the womb of its mother.

Human beings live for ten months in the womb, a hundred years in this physical world and for eternity in the spirit world.

Death is simply a shedding of the physical body like the butterfly shedding its cocoon…

I have absolutely no fear of death. From my near-death research and my personal experiences, death is, in my judgment, simply a transition into another kind of reality.

The closer we get to that sacred meadow called death, the more and more alive we grow. And the more we live in the sanctity that life and death reveal in each other, the more loving we grow.

It is written in the psalm: “I shall not die, but live.” In order really to live, man must first give himself to death.

You that seek what life is in death, Now find it air that once was breath. New names unknown, old names gone: Till time end bodies, but souls none.

Something within us does not pass away, something goes on living and working wherever the kingdom of the spirit is present.
